12/22/2005: "Miscellaneous pre-holiday rambling"

The kids and I are off today, headed down to the bay area to visit my grandfather, my aunt and my great-aunt. Braving the big city traffic and all.

My trips to San Francisco are usually at about 4 am when I go to the flower market, so when I have to go during the day, I am invariably amazed at all the cars and people! Go figure! We are going for lunch and in order to avoid the worst of the traffic on the way home, we might just have to stop and do some shopping on the way home, hee!
Three more presents to buy and I will be done with all my Christmas shopping. Woohooo!

Speaking of Christmas gifts, I got an early Christmas gift the other day!
I was just about to start wrapping presents and hubby and I were having rather a silly argument about who used up all the tape (??) And I was just headed out to the store in a bit of a snit when there was a knock at the door. Three BIG boxes emblazoned with the DELL logo arrived and well, the cat was really out of the bag at that point!! How cool is my hubby!? Dude, I got a dell!

It's all sleek and beyooteeful and has a flat screen monitor and everything. The feline residents of our home will be pissed that they can't sleep on top of it, but that's a small price to pay to bring me into the new century!
Of course this leaves us with rather a surplus of computers at our house, as you can see from this photo. Pay no attention to the messiness that is my desk!

And, because I truly am the queen of procrastination. I must go get the ironing board out and steam block (and gift wrap) the scarf I am supposed to give as a gift TODAY! Did I mention this is one of the scarves I finished knitting in September?

Back soon! *mwah*

Woohoo, now that makes it nice and merry, doesn't it!? A little computer surplus is a small price to pay (I have that problem, too.)

Merry Christmas, Christine!

Whoohoo! Snazzy new machine. I keep wishing our monitor would die, so I can get one of those flat ones. They take up so little space!

Have fun in SF!
