Happy Friday!
How's your Friday so far? This is all the news that's fit to print around here.
We have pie!
Yes, I made a pie, how domestic of me! My kids will be THRILLED! I even got my teensy cookie cutters out and put heart cutouts on the pie to cover my jaggedy piecrust edges. That is all well and good except for when the cherry filling bubbles up and then it looks like we have bleeding heart pie... At least it isn't a bleeding armadillo cake or anything.

We have a Madeleine dollie peeking out from the couch cushions. She's a fixture around our house and always makes me smile.

We have daffodils in a vintage vase and knitting on the needles. (and a very wrinkly tablecloth. I cannot pretend to be a domestic diva ALL the time people, sheesh!)

We have a crapload of movies to watch. Hubby bought "Walk the Line" and "Pride and Prejudice" this week and we also have a bunch of netflix movies to see this weekend, woohoo!
We have take and bake pizza for dinner, which means that I might just get a nap when I get home from picking up the children from school.
Ahhhhh!! I hope you have a good weekend! Back soon.

Quickie Project
Necessity is the mother of... something. Usually around here it means rummaging through the closet of doom where all the craft and project supplies are haphazardly stored and trying to find a solution.
With all the sewing I've been doing lately, I needed another pincushion and a needle book. I have a magnetic pin holder that I love but sometimes the pins and everything get so jumbled up in there it's a hazard to try and pick something off the magnet.
I decided to make a little pincushion and needle book from some scraps I had around. I love this Japanese fabric remnant that I had. I may have promised not to knit any more pink things for a while but I didn't say I wouldn't SEW anything pink. Neener neener!

Random Rambling Tuesday!
Last Day of February! Let's see what I've gotten completed this month..
Knitting tally - 3.5 new socks and half a "leftover" sock from January
I might have finished the second of the fluted banister socks had it not been for the call of the quilt...
This is what my world has looked like lately!

I've started on another quilt, this time for my bed.
In this pic, along with my beloved Singer, you can see a bit of the colors I'm using...pale yellow, shades of red and browns (butter, chocolate and tomato soup, yum!)
Notice please that I am well prepared for a lengthy stint at the sewing table with the portable phone and a tasty beverage. The tv remote is probably in the pile there somewhere too...
WTF was I thinking?
I have to confess that the lap quilt I made earlier in the month is the ONLY quilt I've ever completed. I've pieced bunches of blocks, both with traditional patchwork and some crazy quilting.
The jump from a lap quilt to a queen size is HUGE. I'm in some kind of quilting black hole where I piece and I piece and I piece and it doesn't seem to get any bigger. EVER!
Theoretically...I should actually have the piecing done in another evening or two, according to my quilt math. We'll see. My math skills are notoriously suspect! I might possibly should have 288 blocks when I'm done sewing. Does anyone want to take bets on how many I'll ACTUALLY end up with? LOL!
In other news, I couldn't decide on a winner for my "Flaming Needles" contest so I decided that everyone who commented will get a little prize as a thank you for reading and commenting. I'll be contacting y'all soon for addresses! (some of you.. you KNOW who you are... I'll find in person!)
And if you've read this far, please go over and give Vicki some love, she needs it!
