Lace Ho

Well, Spring must be here because I have switched from knitting socks to knitting lace, my other knitting obsession!! This is the Mountain Scarf from Boogie Knits. I love the colors in this hand dyed yarn! The pattern is so easy and beautiful, i can see myself making more of these scarves in the future because well...I have enough laceweight yarn in my stash to make one for everyone I know, and some total strangers as well.

The Diamond Fantasy shawl has seen some action as well, but photographs terribly. It's in the "blob" stage of knitting right now where it looks terrible and bunchy on the needles and you cannot imagine anything beautiful coming from it, ever. That's one thing i love about lace knitting though. You just knit on faithfully until you get to the blocking and unfurling at the end, sooo gratifying!

Speaking of gratifying...
I haven't been blogging much at all because my kids are on vacation with their bio-dad in Tahoe this week which leaves Hubby and myself home alone with no children! Wooohoo! Can you blame me for not blogging!? *wink*

I'll leave you with a pic of my freesias, they are one of my favorite Spring flowers. This pot is inside and they are making my house smell soooo good. I also have two pots sitting by my porch so you get a whiff of freesia every time you walk by. I wish they were in smell-o-vision so y'all could sniff them. They are heavenly!

Easter Aftermath!

P1010128 (125k image)

Once again, I managed a whole weekend with no pictures, what a bad blogger I am!
The above picture is what i woke up to this morning. That and a sink full of (thankfully!) clean dishes in the drainer. I'll spare you any pictures of that! I should have gotten a picture of the baskets yesterday morning, but my 8 year old son got up early and I do believe there was some redistribution of wealth going on with the Easter basket contents. That's what we all get for sleeping in, I suppose!

We had my sister and her family over for dinner on Saturday. I cooked a roast and scalloped potatoes, green beans, caramelized pearl onions and biscuits for dinner. We had bananas foster for dessert (YUM!!!) My kids love "flaming bananas" as they call them. I have to admit, it is impressive.

On Sunday, we had Easter brunch at my best friend's house. Just a note... if your best friend is a chef, it's always a good idea to take her up on invitations to come over and eat!
My Virginia born and raised hubby finally got to have some ham, so he was a happy camper! It was nice to do all that visiting but I was so tired and overfed by the time we got home on Sunday afternoon that I took a three hour nap. That's the way a holiday weekend should be! Hee!

There's not much else to report. I haven't been knitting much, but I am hoping to get some good knitting time in today and work a couple repeats of the mountain scarf I showed in the previous post. My kids are home today before they take a trip to Tahoe with their dad tomorrow, and we are just going to kick back at home. Ahhhh!

Happy Monday! How was your weekend?
