A Very Random Wednesday.

Well.. howdy there, internet!

It's currently 9:49 a.m. here at Chez Christine and I just finished a 7 hour work shift that started at the obscene hour of 2:30. I've been to the flower mart and back, put the flowers in water for a drink, and now I'm just waiting for nap time. I do have to wait a bit, as I have two cakes in the oven. For some inexplicable reason, I have been possessed of the urge to make a Kahlua Chocolate Cake. For several days, it's been hovering around in my thoughts.. mmmm.. cake!

This does pose an interesting and rather pertinent question. Does eating a signifigant amount of cake batter, (a batter that contains a not insignifigant amount of alcohol) constitute morning drinking? Hmmm... And if I've been up for 7 hours, it's more like lunchtime anyway, isn't it?
One can drink at lunch, even if the drink is surrounded by cake batter, right?
See, I can justify anything. I'm good at it! I can't wait till these cakes are done, they smell soooo good.
I'll take pics of the cakes later.. if they come out of the pans and are deemed photo-worthy!

Anyhow, let's see what else there is to catch you all up on. I'm still awaiting shipment of my yarn for my Eris sweater, so not much knitting content. I have been knitting, but I'm not about to bore you all with a picture of three more rows on a sock or a few more lace repeats on my shawl, which photographs like shit when it's on the needles..

Gigantic, monster, mutant roses! I swear these buds are as big as my fist. I don't know the variety name but they are just GORGEOUS!

Fresh pomegranates, still on the branches. These are going to be faboo in this weekend's flower arrangements! I can't wait to see them with the fall hydrangeas that I will be picking up on Friday. Burgundy/wine and chocolate brown is a popular color scheme for weddings this fall. I have several weddings that are using these colors. No complaints from me though. I adore fall flowers!

Baby Kitty (who is 5 years old and has a real name, but is still called Baby Kitty by everyone) says
"Mmmm mmm! Flower bucket water! Breakfast of Champions!"
For some reason, the cats LOVE to drink out of the flower buckets. Maybe it's like tea to them or something.. I can't figure it out.
