A knitting blog! Who knew?!
Hiya Innernet People!
Join me on a little trip down memory lane won't you? Remember a time, a long long time ago...back when I could think clearly. A time before the wedding season (which has been going on FOREVER, seriously, it needs to be over for a while before I go a bit insane)
This was sometimes a knitting blog! Do you remember that? Occasionally I would show you photos of knitting, talk about yarn I bought. I would kvetch about projects that I was working on and projects that I occasionally *gasp* completed! Remember those days?
Well, I know it's been a long stretch of piss-poor knitting commentary around here lately. Hopefully some of the flowery eye candy has made up for it. I do have a few more weeks of wedding hell, but the end is in sight which means I can settle down to this... actual knitting! A Project, with a capital P.
A nice big box from Knitpicks was awaiting me on Saturday when I got home from doing this weekend's wedding. This is the "Black Cherry Heather" colorway (Wool of the Andes). I love the color so much! The yarn cables like a dream and it was dirt cheap. What's not to like!?

As you can see, I have begun my Eris sweater. I am making the cardigan version. Some part of my brain may have known that Eris is the mythic goddess of chaos, but I didn't remember until I googled. (my 9 y/o son knew.. go figure!)
Usually around here, we are all slaves to the goddess Flora, but Eris is a close second this time of year! How appropriate!

Can't wait to see how these cables look after a nice blocking! And yes, I know I'm badly in need of a manicure!
This pattern. Wow. What can I say that hasn't already been said elsewhere about it. So well written! It's a little bit of a mind bender for me, as I'm not used to reading cable charts and for some reason I have a bit of a visual issue with the symbols in the chart, so I'm having to go very carefully and methodically. I keep reminding myself to do exactly as the pattern says (and I am usually one to veer off of written directions and improvise at the slightest provocation) I'm sure I'll be fine, but at the rate I'm going, y'all may be seeing this project around for a while!
Lots of other stuff going on, but I'll need more time to sit down and write a bit. Today is somewhat of a "day off" for me, which mostly consists of housework, paperwork, laundry, etc. At least I don't have to go anywhere!
Back soon! *mwah*
