Quickie update!

A very very quick update this morning! I'm off to do the mom's taxi run and then a bit of extra work (need $ for Vegas, dontcha know!)

Here is a pic of my daughter and her best friend, who took third and fourth place respectively in our school district spelling bee! Now they will go on the the county spelling bee! Way to go girlies!

And, it's time for a Socktoberfest update. I have two completed socks and one toe so far. Here are the "Good-n-Plenty" socks in progress! You can't see it in this picture but the stripes on the toes match up perfectly on BOTH socks. I'm so proud of myself! Hey, it's the little things in life that make us happy! Hee!

Good news, I am no longer on jury duty !! Yay! Life is getting back to normal.(whatever "normal" is around here!

Shotgun!

Am I the only one who has children who fight over who gets to ride "shotgun"?
I didn't think so! :)

And yeah, I never bothered to replace the front hubcap when I hit a pothole and the hubcap went down a ravine.

As you can probably tell, I haven't much content to add today. The jury duty/brain eating process continues. I will breathe a sigh of relief to be done with it. I understand it's my civic duty and all, but damn, it's tedious and depressing. Hopefully my karma will be good for a while after this.

I have been able to do some knitting during jury breaks, in my car! I haven't tried to bring my knititng in through security after the first day. My underwires seem to be acceptable these days too.

Today's red flag at court security seemed to be the buttons on my jacket, (self covered fabric buttons with metal cores, oooh...scary!) The security folks also took some offense at a metal barette that I had in my hair. Far more dangerous than my bamboo knitting needles in my humble opinion!

Hopefully I'll be back tomorrow with my Tuesday self portrait! The camera batteries are charging!
