Burning the Midnight Oil
I stayed up laaaate last night, power knitting through a repeat and a half on my Kiri shawl. I really want this baby to be DONE soon. A repeat and a half to go, and then the edging. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!

Of course, staying up that late is always an adventure, especially when channel surfing and knitting at the same time. The tv selections in the wee hours are eclectic to say the least!

I must confess, dear readers, that I watched several back-to back episodes of Dog the Bounty Hunter. I'm mortified to admit that the show has a strange appeal to me, I just can't look away, and I have no idea why!
Some other shows I managed to watch were The Deadliest Catch. (Another show that can suck me in without fail!) and a horrifying episode of Restaurant Makeover on Food TV. The restaurant they were revamping was NASTY! UGH! The restaurant owner was sooo ungrateful when they were finished too, it was really something.
I topped off my TV viewing by watching the movie Carrie, which I hadn't seen in AGES. I remember how creeped out I was the first time I saw that movie! *shudder*

It was the TV version of a junk food binge and I must confess that I'm feeling a little bit of morning-after guilt today! Kiri is looking a lot better for the time spent with her though! She's going to get some more quality time today before I have to go to work!

In other news, I was the 3000th comment posted to Vicki's blog! Woohoo! Congrats, Vicki. Your blog is always a joy to read!

It's raining today. Our first good rain since about June. Our area is completely dry during the summers and then we have monsoon type weather all winter. The year that Hubby moved here to California, we had no sun for over a month and it rained every single day. I think he was wondering if he should build an ark! I love the rain and I'm really enjoying listening to it this morning! Perfect knitting weather!

I have a busy couple of days. I'm giving a birthday tea for my 5 year old niece on Saturday (which means housecleaning between now and then!) and then I have a pumpkin patch party to go to on Sunday. Somehow, Halloween is Monday! It snuck up on me! Whew! It's going to be hectic and fun!

Back soon!! *mwah*

The Kiri shawl at 11 repeats. Three more repeats plus the edging to do. Will I have it finished in time for...
A.) Our wedding anniversary (Nov. 3)
B.) Our vacation (Nov 13)
C.) My birthday (Nov 17)
D.) Thanksgiving
E.) None of the above

Stay Tuned!

P.S. Yes, those lime green threads are a whole crapload of lifelines. LOTS of them, for which I am eternally grateful after the Bunny Shawl-Eating Episode

Monday Update - Holiday Knitting!

haydenhat2 (38k image)

Okay, so, for those of you keeping track and playing the home game... Here is another WIP (Work in progress for the non-knitters)

The projects currently on the needles -

Kiri Shawl - about 70% finished
Star Gazer Lily Socks - 50% finished
Good-n-Plenty socks - 65% finished
SO what the hell is this you might ask?

This is the Hayden Hat pattern from Poor Miss Finch.
I sooooo love this pattern. It looks like crochet, but it's actually a clever slip stitch knit pattern. Quick and fun. I've added a few of these hats to my holiday knitting list. Why? I have no idea, I'm perfectly capable of crocheting, and I'm actually a faster crocheter than a knitter, but it's always nice to learn a new technique!

So, to recap, The holiday knitting list now includes
4 Branching Out Scarves - 3 completed
3 hats - none completed
3 Christmas Stockings - one completed
2 pairs of socks - none completed
felted clog slippers - none completed

As always I am hopelessly deluded optimistic about my holiday knitting!

This does not include at least 2 days of holiday sewing projects. Good thing I can sew MUCH faster than I can knit!

Only 62 days until Christmas! Wooohoooo!
