Self Portrait Tuesday - November 8, 2005

Yep, I voted today.
I feel a little bit guilty because as hard as my forebears fought for the right for women to vote, I feel a bit resentful voting in this particular election.
(I'm in California, home of the Governator, need I say more?)
I'm particularly pissed off at all the propaganda surrounding this year's "special" election. I've been saying all week that I will be SO glad when it all stops. The endless tv ads, phone calls, arrgghhh, make it stop!

I'm off to the couch to knit and take some deep, cleansing breaths.

She made a good showing in the bee although she won't go on to the state competition. (I think that would send us all over the edge, it's sooo nerve wracking!)
We are so proud of her!

We had some time before the spelling bee so I managed to get a few good pics of my kids. The boy HATES his pic taken as much as I do and I've been trying to get at least one good snapshot to include in our Christmas cards this year. This one isn't the final pic for the Christmas cards but I do like it a lot! They look so sweet. Just another reason you shouldn't believe everything you see on the internet! Hee!

And... last but not least, Kiri reclining in a tree, with her points unfortunately askew. This is the best shot of the actual yarn color.

Aside from the housework I have planned today. I'm working on some sock knitting. I joined Lolly's Socktoberfest knitalong and I did complete two socks (albeit unrelated ones) during the month of October. I'm pretty happy with that.
This may well be Sock-vember for me as well, Although it doesn't sound nearly as good! To my surprise, handknitted socks have been requested as holiday gifts by certain family members. Hey, I can do that!
