Shiny Brite!
December is here, you know what that means! (Besides TONS of work, shopping, cleaning, baking, maniacal knitting...)
Yep, time to put up the trees! (Yes, plural!)
I've been collecting old glass ornaments since for about 20 years now. It's just so hard to pass them up when you see boxes of them at yard sales for a quarter a box!. My collection dwindled a bit when I divorced my first husband. I took pity and left some of the ornaments behind with him.
This year, my ornament collection got a BIG infusion of Shiny Brite joy when I found a bunch of old boxes in the attic of my grandparents house as it was being cleaned out. I was able to bring home about 6 large boxes of Shiny Brites!
I love the box of tiny little ornaments in this pic. It still has a 29 cent Woolworths price tag on it!
I have a LOT of these tiny ornaments, I might have to put together a wreath or something with them.
The timing of my latest ornament acquisition was fabulous, as I was able to get hold of a 4' vintage aluminum tree this year that shows off the glass ornaments soooo well! The tree is not quite done in this photo, but it gives you a really good idea of the sparkliness we have going on here!
And yes, Vicki This is a real Wisconsin Aluminum tree, from the legendary aluminum tree forests of Manitowoc! :)
This picture shows a few of the ornaments I use, most of them are old, but there are a few new ones mixed in, My daughter's pink baby block ornament with the 1995 date is visible in this one.
I also have a box of the NEW Shiny brites, by Christopher Radko, Given to me by my awesome sis in law Jenn! Love the box on this one too!
I had a nice rant all typed out but for some reason it got eaten by the computer. Guess I was meant to post about something nice today! I have a lot of work going on this weekend, but I'll be back to post soon.
Have a Shiny Brite Day! *mwah*
