Christine's Crazyquilting

Crazyquilt Dream Pillow

This is my second completed crazyquilt project. It measures 6" square and is pieced in a variety of silks, satins, brocade and velvet.
I have used two antique buttons which I found in an old stash of my grandmothers. The two moon charms are brass and the seed beads are Japanese size 11's.

After looking closely at an old crazyquilt of my stepmother's, I decided that I wanted the stitching on this piece to be simple. Her old quilt is all silks with feather stitching embellishment. I really wanted the fabrics on this piece to stand out. The fabrics in this are so gorgeous, I hope I can bring myself to give it away! *smile*
The pillow itself will be stuffed with aromatic herbs including chamomile, lavender, hops, mugwort, roses and a few others. This is a Valentine's day gift for a dear friend.

This is the entire block

Block detail. The tatting is an old piece I got in an ebay auction lot. (Ebay addicts unite!)

This is my favorite part of the block. I love anything with a celestial theme!
